You Should Buy Blu-ray Movies
November 6, 2008
Blu-ray movies are really cool. With them you get the best picture quality. High def is where the world is headed. After watching blu-ray I can’t even watch regular DVDs anymore. I saw Spiderman 2 on blu-ray the other and it couldn’t even compare to when I watch it on regular DVD a couple of years back. Not only the picture is improved, but so is the sound generated. There is not enough that can be said about how wonderful these blu-ray discs are.
I bought a high def TV, and when I view normal TV programming or even DVD movies it seems like a waste of my time. In realty it not even a good way to waste my day. I’d rather read a book then watch crapy TV (and that’s saying a lot). There are HD channels available, so that makes it better, but still I wish everything looked like blu-ray DVDs.
A lot of people have been put off blu-ray because they feel it’s too expensive. Yeah sure you pay a little more, but the quality is so worth it. It is not even that expensive really. You can buy blu-ray movies if you look for them. In reality they don’t cost all that much. One thing that can be said for sure is that they are worth the cost. Even if the cost was $75 each I’d still probably buy them. Quality is what I look for over price.
Considering how far tech has come in such a short time I can’t imagine where it will be in another 20 or even 40 years. In reality pouring over all that stuff in your mind is of no value. I will just live in the present. This is my reasoning why I don’t understand why people don’t pay the little more for the quality cheap blu-ray player. I can concede they can cost a pretty penny, but the are worth it for sure. I don’t think I could cope without mine, not to sound insane.

There’s nothing like watching movies in the comfort of your own home–you can curl up in your favorite pajamas, add all your favorite things to your popcorn, or have a few original snacks that are special to your family. Blu Ray movies are special because the quality of the film makes you feel like you are watching the movie from the theater. You’ll be able to see all the detail in the character’s faces, and the precision of the scene changes, along with the clear audio capabilities of the disc help to ensure that you never miss an important line and can hear all the great music in the film. And, now that a number of notable companies like Apple computers, LG, and Walt Disney films have endorsed and helped to develop Blu Ray movies, you can be sure that the discs will allow you to use advanced computer features to save data, and that you can play your movies on quality appliances. Many of the live and feature films that Disney has produced can also be purchased in Blu Ray form, which means that you may be able to purchase some of your favorite childhood films, such as Mary Poppins, Cinderella, or Snow White that have been reformatted so that the the picture is clearer and the colors are brighter.
You can also purchase Blu Ray movies from some of your favorite discount department stores or electronic stores. The movies are affordable, and you can keep them in your library as long as you need to. Netflix, the company that allows you to rent movies online and return them in the mail, also has a great selection of Blu ray movies for you to choose from. If you want to create films of your own, you can check out the blu ray selection that Best Buy has to offer–you’ll find writeable and re-writeable discs that you can purchase from the store to create your own digital photo albums or home videos that you can save in your library. And if you purchase a disc that is not able to be edited, you can be sure that your family memories will not be accidentally erased. You’ll be able to save up to nine hours of video and audio footage on the discs, so you can arrange your library to have one disc for the children’s recitals, one disc for family vacations, etc.

Better Features With Blu Ray Disc Player
September 15, 2008
The headlines read: “Sony Says Blu Ray will Conquer Half the Market By 2008.” Until now, you may have never have heard of the blu ray disc before. If you’re the kind of person who watches movies every week or every couple weeks and loves that home theater, high-definition, surround-sound experience, then a Blu Ray disc player is in your near future.
The good news is that you didn’t get suckered into buying a HD DVD player that is now obsolete. Here you will learn all of the basics about this new technology so that you can make up your mind as to whether it’s a trend or a necessity for your household.

Blu Ray (BR) is the new format developed for optimal recording, rewriting, playing and storing of high-definition video. The world first learned about the new technology with the release of Sony’s PlayStation3 in November 2006. To make more advanced games, Sony needed a way to “fit in” more data.
While the DVDs in your current collection hold 9 GB of information, the Blu Ray discs are able to hold 25-50 GB, making it five times more efficient! Manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp and JVC (to name a few) are using a different type of laser (blue versus the traditional red) to pack more data with better precision.

Several days after the November 2006 release of PS3, Sony offered its first stand alone Blu Ray disc player for $300. Thanks to the new technology, the PlayStation was surpassing its rival, the Xbox360, by selling 13 million units. The Blu Ray 1.0 was your bare bones player, but it lacked ethernet ports and all of the functionality that the superior PS3 machines had.
Since November, all the blu ray discs featuring 1.1-2.0 technology and are BD-Live enabled, meaning that you can link up to the internet to download movie trailers onto the rewritable portion of your Blu Ray disc and play interactive games, as well as receive firmware updates and exclusive downloads of additional bonus material.

So just how popular is the Blu Ray? It’s so popular that market analysts are speculating that Sony may not have the capacity to tackle the demand for the new bluray player ! The demand is said to be around 43 million units worldwide, but factories can only handle production for 38 million, and that’s after an upgrade to their facilities.
Therefore, you can expect prices to remain high until the supply side catches up with the demand. Prices on the initial players range from $400 to $1,000 but the subsequent versions are expected to be offered for around $300.
Blu Ray vs HD DVD - Ref Stops Fight
September 3, 2008
If you were one of the sensible consumers who waited to see the outcome of the Blu Ray vs HD DVD war, the wait is over and Blu Ray won after the referee stopped the fight in the 7th round to put HD DVD out of its misery. If you jumped the gun and didn’t wait for the outcome, hopefully you backed the winner!
So what is Blu Ray? It is simply the next level of data storage. A dvd disc can hold 4.7GB of information where as a Blu Ray disc can hold around 15GB. This extra room means there is now the space to record video with a lot more detail; High Definition.
High definition means more dots per square inch so the picture is so much more sharper and clearer but you will need a HD ready TV to see the benefit.
One of the reasons Blu Ray won the Blu Ray vs HD DVD battle was the Sony Playstation. Blu Ray was invented by Sony who pulled off a master stroke by shipping their Playstation 3 with a built in Blu Ray player. The graphics are next generation on the Playstation 3 and it was a great advert for their Blu Ray system.
It’s not the first time Sony have used this marketing tactic. Playstation 1 made many sales because it came as a CD player and games console and Playstation 2 came as a DVD player/games console.
Movie buffs who were on the fence in the Blu Ray vs HD DVD fight were swung by the fact if they purchased the Playstation 3 they got a free top of the range games console thrown in.
Hardened gamers who weren’t sure which games console to go for went for the Playstation 3 because it had the added bonus of a Blu Ray player built in to keep the wife happy.
