If you are looking to compare satellite TV systems to what you currently have there are a few key things you want to look for. Regardless of if you are using cable or just the rabbit ears on your TV; these things to compare satellite TV systems do not really change.
How To Compare Satellite TV Systems
The first thing you want to look at is cost. When you compare cable and satellite TV you will find that the cost of cable is significantly higher. When you look at satellite verus over the air, satellite is much higher. So now you have a basic line to compare satellite TV systems. Price is important, but in no way shape or form is it the be all and end all to compare satellite TV systems. It is however important and you must keep it in mind as you continue to compare satellite TV systems against the competition.
Next you want to look at features. Depending on what you want out of your TV system this will vary. If you are looking for absolutely the best football package that money can buy, then any of the satellite system providers is probably going to give you a better option then cable, and they will be far better then your rabbit ears. However, if you want to get your internet and phone with your TV then cable is by far and away the better choice.
Cable offers many things that you will not be able to get with satellite. The first is high speed internet. While satellite claims to offer high speed broadband connection, the fact of the matter is that cable is vastly superior in every way. Internet over the satellite is shaky at best and down right non existent at worst. Cable is a lot less likely to go out or suffer periods where it is down. The difference is though if cable goes out, it will probably be out for a while or at the very least until someone comes along and fixes it.
Satellite does however offer far superior selection of channels, especially HD ones. You can select from hundreds of different full HD channels whereas with cable you selection is not as big. In addition Satellite offers odd channel packages that give you access to TV around the world. Many times you will not be able to get this from cable, so the choice for satellite or cable is not an option.
